Trading & travelling across the world!

What a way to end the trading week with a bang, by taking up the party invitation by Guinness for their Arthur’s Day party!

It was a great event with free flow of food and drinks, and of course, the highlight of the party was the performance by “The Fray” – here are some photos we managed to sneak :p

Once again, a big thanks to Guinness and Ogilvy for organising this great party, and for the invitations. Also, special thanks to Shiraz for sponsoring our food; the kebab was awesome. We look forward to more of such great events to end the week with a bang! xD

After taking most of my profits and waiting for the markets to settle down, it is time to chill and PARTY! At one of Asia’s top clubs.

I got invited by Reebok for this new launch event, together with other media and some of their corporate clients. Since I was free that night, I decided to check it out, plus there was free flow of drinks :]

It was an awesome night, and a great way to end the week! Remember, even as we strive for financial success, we should always keep in mind to enjoy life, because there are many things money can’t buy. Party on! xD

Once again, a big thanks to the sponsors, RSH and Reebok, for inviting me to this great event. Cheers!

What an exciting Friday night this was! (I’m not refering to the NFP in case you’re wondering; I took most profits and trailed my stops as per normal before any major news.) After a sumptuous pre-party dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday, we headed down to Zouk for the August Man 7th Anniversary closed-door party. It was buzzing with excitement, and all the big names were there.

After saying our goodbyes and tipping the valet drivers, we headed off to leVel 33 craft brewery to chill and chat away the rest of the night. This night was certainly an interesting vortex of breath-taking and nostalgic memories, and I am glad I could spend more time with my good friends, since these fond memories are priceless.

Recently, now that I am moving on into semi-retirement, I started learning golf as a new hobby, as this was a new skill I had always wanted to learn. Although I only had a few lessons so far, I was amazed at how similar the mental game and psychology aspect is to trading.

Firstly, besides the skills and technique, both require a calm and focused state of mind to make decisions and perfect the execution. Next, with more practice, you have to “forget” what you have learnt, and trust your instincts to execute a perfect shot, once you have a vision of it in your mind’s eye.

Just like trading, it will take effort and discipline, but the rewards are definitely worth it because I would have learnt a new lifelong skill. This is the same reason why many people have chosen to learn the real skills of trading, and turn away from gambling/punting penny stocks, because they have been burnt before, and now want to learn trading the right way, to make consistent daily profits in forex or invest in stocks.

Although it will be harder for them to unlearn the bad habits, it is better late then never, because even if you keep doing something wrong for many years, it is not experience, it is just foolishness, because you would have wasted your time. That is why when I decided to learn golf, I decided to engage a professional coach, instead of trying to pick it up from books or trying to figure out the game on my own.

Overall, this was a great experience, and I am excited to embark on this journey to learn a new skill, while continuing to hone my trading skills and coach others who wish to trade the same way I do, imparting real trading skills and strategies for them to trade forex and invest in stocks. All the best, and have a great weekend!

Want to learn the secret recipe for an awesome Mojito?

Last night, I had an incredible (at least from what I recall) night, with free flow of food and drinks on the house at Fullerton Bay Hotel Lantern Room. With a bunch of my awesome friends, we ordered almost every item on the menu, from the tender steak to the truffles fries, not forgetting the exquisite mini-burgers and finger-licking chicken wings. oh yar, and the mouth-watering pizzas. I’m pretty sure we chalked up an astronomical bill. xD

The highlight of this closed-door event was the DIY Mojito station, where an experienced bartender shared with us his “70-year” secret of making Mojitos. I’ll let the photos do the talking.
