Developed by John Bollinger in the 1980s, this indicator is useful for measuring volatility via standard deviations.
Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)
Developed by Gerald Appel in the late 1970s, this indicator is useful for identifying divergences and trend reversals.
Rate of Change (ROC) & Momentum
This is a useful tool which means the strength and fluctuation of the trend, and whether it is accelerating or decelerating.
Relative Strength Index (RSI)
Developed by J. Welles Wilder in the 1970s, this is a momentum oscillator which is useful for identifying extreme price swings.
Developed by Dr. George Lane in the 1950s, this is another useful oscillator which is commonly used in conjunction with the RSI.
Elliot Wave Theory
Developed by Ralph Nelson Elliott in the 1930s, this is a useful (but controversial) tool for studying price movements and cycles.
